I recently wrote about the amazing smoked pastrami at Hayworth and mentioned about a sister BBQ restaurant called SMKD that had this amazing piece of meat in a sandwich. I recently had the pleasure of trying out SMKD for lunch. The first thing I noticed was the smoker out front and bags of mesquite wood. Just like I saw at BBQ places in Texas. A good sign!
Here was the menu. I went for the 2 meat and 2 sides and an order of marble cornbread.

For meat, the brisket and ribs. For sides the collard greens and hush puppies.

The first thing that hit me was the smoke. If you enjoy real smoke flavor in your BBQ, this will not disappoint you. The brisket was thinly sliced and very smoke forward. The ribs were very meaty and had a good rub on them. There were a variety of sauces on the table. The hush puppies were crisp on the outside with a soft, fluffy, and moist interior. The collard greens were delicious with the broth they were sitting in adding a lot of savory notes with each bite. I really enjoyed these. The corn bread was good.
Overall, service was excellent with multiple people coming by to check in on us (you grab a seat, order at the counter, and then someone will bring your food to your table). The food was really good (I would of liked a bit more moist but still really well executed BBQ nonetheless). Just like Hayworth, there are a ton of things on the menu I want to try like the pastrami sandwich, and French Dip; so needless to say, I will be back and highly recommend.
