High Tech Sushi – Kura

If you are looking for a unique, quick and delicious sushi experience in Vegas, you should visit Kura sushi. Its located in the popular for food Shanghai Plaza on Spring Mountain (Vegas’s Chinatown). This is not a traditional omakase place. However, the sushi is good for what it is and the experience alone makes it worth going to.

  1. If you are starving and don’t want to wait for your order. The sushi comes on conveyor belts. The quality of fish and rice is good.
  2. If you don’t see what you want on the conveyor belt, you can order on a convenient touchpad located at each table. An alert will sound when your food is on its way. Its quite entertaining:

3. Aside from the typical salmon, tuna, and California rolls (which are actually made with real crab and are delicious), they have more premium items like chutoro, uni etc. If you want to order drinks or other condiments, you can also use the touchpads and the items will be delivered by robot:

4. When you are done with each plate, you insert it into a slot as shown in the above video and it will keep count of how many plates you have consumed.

5. If you consumer enough, a ball will roll down from an overhead box and there will be a prize inside.

6. When you are ready to pay, you can do it auto via the touchpad or request a server. They also have a rewards program you can sign up for.

Overall, this is a good spot if you are craving some sushi quick, that is high quality with pretty wide variety, and don’t want to sit down for a long omakase. All the high tech stuff is bonus entertainment. I would return as a casual sushi spot and recommend someone to try for themselves.
