Papi Steak at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas is Just as Amazing as Miami

I recently went to Vegas to check out the newly opened Fontainebleau hotel. One of the restaurants I was excited to check out was Papi Steak. I have been to the one in Miami a couple times and always had a good time (and good food). I will post about the actual hotel later, but for now, here was the menu.

Reservations are done online but are tough to get. I checked a few days before my trip and it was completely sold out. However, I checked again on the day I wanted to dine, and there were a few spots that had opened up. We were seated promptly and walking through the dining room on a Sunday night, I could already tell it was going to be a good meal. Our reservation was for 10PM and the place was still packed.

My only complaint was that we were sat in the back with a waitstaff station partially obstructing our view of the main dining area and one person had to sit with their back to all the fun. I would definitely recommend you to request a table in the center of the restaurant. I guess our server noticed that I would move to the banquette to get a better view of the dining room so he offered to move us toward the end of the meal. What was so interesting to see? This vid says it all:

Foodwise, a lot of items on the Vegas menu looked familiar to the Miami one. We started with the wagyu pastrami which was so tender and delicious, just like in Miami. Its literally like meat candy.

For our main, we had the truffle corn which I also loved from Miami, a New York strip Wagyu, and something the server recommended, the monop potato (basically, a baked potato with caviar).

The potato was so good. The steak was had a perfect crust, was well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and had a slight grill flavor/taste to it. Just simply fantastic. For dessert we had the chocolate souffle. This is probably my current favorite restaurant in Vegas. The food and atmosphere cannot be beat. In fact, I already made a reservation to eat here for my next Vegas trip which is not for a couple of months. Highly highly recommend this place.
