I love Hawaiian food. Its taking the best from many Asian and Polynesian cuisines and serving it together with lots of umami. I was excited to see there was a Hawaiian restaurant in Vancouver that was recently included in the Michelin guide. I had to check it out (note that the restaurant is currently temporarily closed due to a fire). Here was the menu that evening; we went with the Ohana menu:

The meal started with some fried fish, pickles and peanuts:

Next, salad and squid:

For the main, they served us the huli-huli chicken with some rice and greens:

Dessert:

Overall, this was a good dinner. The food was full of flavor and unique; everything was cooked well. Service was pretty good. Hopefully, they will be able to reopen soon. I would go back.
