I arrived in Charlotte, North Carolina just after lunch time and I wanted my first meal to be BBQ. I found the 7th Street Market within walking distance from my hotel, and it had “Southern Inspired Street Food” – PERFECT.
The 7th Street market is a small market with a couple of local stores and food places. I ordered the pimento cheese and a bulled pork sandwich.
The Pimento was good, but the sandwich was outstanding.

The meat to bun ratio was perfect, the pickles cut through the richness, and the sauce was a perfect balance of sweet, savory and vinegary, which is apparently what NC style BBQ is known for. The vinegar came through prominently though it did not overpower. I loved every bite.
After ordering, I saw they also had a daily special board with other Southern dishes. I wanted to try everything. Overall, this is a place I would go to, and recommend, if you are looking for a quick bite of some good local food!
