I Shouldn’t of Waited So Long – Hell’s Kitchen

The only times I have eaten at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant were the Savoy Grill in London and his steakhouse in Vancouver. The experience in London was near heavenly and the one in Vancouver was good too. Given these experiences, I don’t know why Hell’s Kitchen, which is one of his restaurants in Vegas, never interested me. Maybe its because I filed it in the “touristy” restaurant category. I was wrong.

I recently dined there and the food was incredible. The place is huge but it is clearly run well. The food was delivered in a very timely manner. I went for the prix fix 3 course menu and our group also added some items a la carte. The meal started with scallops:

They were seared well and cooked just right. Nothing out of this world, but a good dish. For my main, the Beef Wellington. Just as amazing as I’ve had at his other restaurants. The beef was melt in your mouth soft and the jus was delicious. The carrots were cooked just right, still crunchy and not mushy. I had to ask for more jus because they didn’t give enough to coat each bite.

Even though the Wellington was delicious, the star of the night was the lobster risotto. It was perfectly seasoned and your mouth will explode with truffle flavor. The lobster was succulent. Absolutely delicious.

One of my favorite desserts is sticky toffee. I would say this one was just ok.

Overall, the meal was phenomenal and I would go back. Service was efficient.
