Next Level Tres Leches Cake – Purple Potato Bakery

If you love tres leches cake, and ube, then you have to check out the ube tres leches cake at the Purple Potato Bakery in Vegas.

The taste of ube is subtle, not overpowering, yet just enough to keep you wanting more. The temperature is right (cold), the texture is right (mushy yet cakey), and its soaked in milky ube goodness. As the name of this place suggests, most of their items contain ube – a purple yam from the Philippines, used in a lot of Filipino desserts. The color is natural and given by anthocyanin, which are antioxidants. I tried a few other things like this ube donut:

…and ensaymada (a Filipino brioche topped with butter, sugar and cheese)…

While everything was good, the tres leches was the star and is outstanding. I will definitely be back for more ube tres leches and highly recommend this place.
