Fly JSX and you won’t want to go back to conventional air travel

Although its the ultimate way to travel, flying in private jets is not on option for most people. However, I recently flew on JSX airlines, from Oakland to Las Vegas, and its a great alternative. So much so, that I wish they had more routes. Here’s what I loved about the experience:

Show up 20 minutes prior to departure – With JSX, there is no need to show up to an airport 2-3 hours prior to your flight. You can show up 20 minutes before! We flew into SFO, and had a Hertz rental car during our time in SF. When it was time to leave, we drove the rental to Hertz, and they dropped us off at the JSX terminal (JSX takes off and lands at the private jet areas of airports). So convenient. Check in was quick and efficient. One thing you should know is that because there are no overhead bins, you have to check almost everything in. However, the person at the front desk will take everything from you, and give you a bag for anything you don’t want to go in the cargo hold (medicine, laptops etc). When you get off the plane, your bag will be waiting beside the plane for you. There is no need to wait for bags at any carousel.

NO TSA – After the quick check in, there is a lounge with tea, water and coffee where you can wait for your flight. Note that there is no TSA. Basically, they will swab your bags and you will still walk through a metal detector, but that takes place during boarding and its seamless.

Stress Free Boarding – Once its time to board, you will walk a short distance to the plane.

Awesome on board experience – Although there are different plane configurations, ours was 1-1.

The seat I was in had a huge table with cupholders beside it. Extremely comfortable and lots of space and legroom for the 1.5 hour flight.

Onboard amenities included Starlink for internet (free for everyone) and snacks and drinks. Here is a peak at the menu on board.

JSX lands at the private jet area of Mccarran airport. What I did was schedule an Uber pick up for the landing time.

From the time to landing to get checked in to the hotel was a total time of 20 minutes! There would be no way this would be possible on a conventional airline. Not to mention the extra 2-3 hours for arriving at the airport before the flight.

Overall this was an AMAZING experience. If the had more routes, especially outside the USA, it would be my first choice for air travel. If you find yourself flying out of an airport that offers JSX, I highly recommend you try it.
