Boia De Miami – I Don’t Really Get It…Sort of

Boia De is a very highly rated, one Michelin star restaurant in Miami. Its also extremely hard to get a reservation. It took maybe 5+ trips to Miami before I was able to get a reservation. Here was the menu:

The meal started off good, with the beef tartare:

The baked clams were just ok. My benchmark for these is Carlino’s in Vancouver (although they do it with scallops).

We also had the salad, which ironically, was probably the only dish that made me say “wow”.

Given that this is an Italian restaurant, I was really excited for the pastas. We had the rabbit ragu and the second I don’t remember. It may of been a special that day.

The pasta were ok, but not amazing. They should be more al dente. The one in the foreground reminded me of Lipton Noodle Soup (which is a good thing; reminds me of childhood). For dessert, tiramisu:

Overall, service was average. It was a bit inattentive and slow. The food ranged from wow to average. Its a really good neighborhood spot, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back or recommend someone go unless in the neighborhood.
