Argentina is famous for its beef, but I have been disappointed more often than not when eating steak in Buenos Aires. A lot of places don’t season enough and lack a solid crust. However, there are great alternatives to just having steak. One such place is Crizia which is in the Michelin guide and also, #41 on the list of Latin America’s Top 50. Here was the tasting menu that evening (it was entirely seafood that evening):

The restaurant prides itself on using ingredients from all over Argentina and provided this map of producers.

The meal started with a bunch of nicely presented, and very delicious amuse bouche.
…and then some oysters…

..and a dish called Imagination…

…bread service…
A delicious wild prawn from Patagonia, very nicely presented with the head.

Squid

Fish, presented tableside:
Then a trio of desserts:

To finish the dinner, our server gave us a tour of the restaurant’s impressive wine cellar. It was two floors. Here was the ground floor:
…and here was the second floor, with a metal grate see through floor.
Overall, the service was really good and the food was delicious. I would return and highly recommend this restaurant in Buenos Aires.
