What can you see on a 12 hour layover in Warsaw?

On a recent trip to Israel, we had a 12 hour layover in Warsaw, Poland. You can follow this same itinerary as it is laid out to maximize time and in such a way that it visits all these places in “order” of distance. We arrived at 8:30AM and booked a room at the Renaissance Airport hotel so that we could store our stuff, have a nap and shower before our 11PM flight later that same day. It was a very modern and clean hotel, and I was happy we did this.

After dropping our stuff off and refreshing, we started by taking an uber to the historic old town.

Here we wandered around for a bit and then made our way the old square and St John’s Cathedral.

By this time it was time for lunch.

After lunch we walked around some more and then went to find the Warsaw fountain (very disappointing – skip it) and Vistula BLVD (also skip it). From there we walked down Krakowskie Przedmiescie which was worth doing. Its a nice long street with a lot of restaurants, stores, nice hotels and other nice buildings to see. We ended up at a high end mall/department store called Wolf Bracka. After walking around the mall a bit, we decided to uber to check out Wilanow Palace. I think its worth checking out the grounds, gardens and interior.

After this, we took uber to the Palace of Science and culture. You pay a fee to go to the top and you can get a view of Warsaw. Its not that high, and I think you can skip this part, but its worth going to the building to see it and take pics from the outside.

After this, we went to a nearby mall (Zlote Tarasy), and then it was time for dinner. Overall, I was very satisfied with this itinerary and felt like we saw most of the main things to see in Warsaw.
