156 Cumberland serves Modern Korean food in a beautiful dining room in Toronto’s Yorkville neighborhood. Here was the menu for the evening:

On thing I particularly liked was the soju infused tea:

We started with potato pancake…

..and chicken wings which were stuffed…

Sujebi – Korean Pasta

As well as the bone-in beef short rib (SSAM platter):

It was delicious, and as you can see from the pic, we completely devoured it. However, one feedback I have is that the banchan, or Korean side dishes, were ridiculously small. Part of the thrill of eating Korean food is the usually unlimited and generous portions of banchan the restaurant will give you. Also, the amount of lettuce given could be increased as well. For dessert, banana milk tiramisu and roasted brown rice ice cream.

Overall, food was well executed in a modern style and very delicious. The service was good and the atmosphere and surroundings were beautiful. I would return to try other dishes.
