Hansik Gonggan is a 1 Michelin Star restaurant located in Seoul, South Korea. Hansik refers to traditional Korean food. The format is a tasting menu.
We started with some Korean rice wine – Cheon Bi Hyang. It is a Yakju which we enjoyed.
The meal started with some delicious amuse of fried seaweed and other bites.
..and then an abalone salad.
Next, the pine nut porridge.
Steamed cabbage
…and mung bean pancake…
grilled beef
Banchan
Various dessert and tea
Overall, this was a good meal. Service was excellent. Every dish was prepared with very subtle and delicate flavors. Nothing was too bold. I wanted to experience a Michelin Starred Korean meal while in Seoul, and while this was really good, I feel like Seoul has so many great places to eat both on the street, in food halls, and non-Michelin starred places. Therefore, I would recommend this for the experience, but would not return.
