Day 2 in the Panamanian Jungle (and the food was still amazing)

Day 2 at Isla Palenque started with breakfast being brought to our casita:

This was followed by a boat excursion which started with some snorkeling. It was ok and there were some colorful fish, but it wasn’t great compared to other snorkeling spots around the world.

…and then a picnic on a private island set up by the boat crew…

Although the setting was incredible, you should note that the Pacific side of Panama does not have white sand beaches or crystal blue water like you will find on the Caribbean side. This was a typical view during the boat ride.

After the excursion returned to Isla Palenque, we decided to take advantage of the daily snacks the amazing kitchen offered. This included more ceviche and these delicious prawns. If you go, and see any type of prawns on the menu, you should definitely get them.

After the snack, we decided to head to the room and take advantage of the outdoor bathtub.

Following that, another amazing sunset and then another amazing dinner in the middle of the jungle!

Every time we sat down to eat, I had to remind myself of where we were because I could not believe they were putting out this quality of food, in the middle of a remote jungle island! Also, the service was impeccable.
