Even though it was about 10+ years ago since I went, Peru is still in my head as one of the top places in the world to eat. The food is incredible. Vancouver doesn’t have a lot of good options for Peruvian food, but luckily, Miami does. Pollo & Jarras specializes in Peruvian Rotisserie chicken. We went to the location at Aventura mall for lunch. The inside is festive.

To start the meal, our server brought us an amuse of Peruvian soup. Suddenly, everything I loved about Peruvian food came rushing back – fresh ingredients, spices, unique flavor combinations, solid technique, and lots of umami.

On the table, there is an amazing assortment of sauces.

We started with chicken cracklings – so good.

Churrasco steak still sizzling on the plate, so tender and well seasoned.

The roast chicken with Peruvian rice. The attention to detail was amazing. Even though it was “just” a side of rice, the obvious care into preparing the dish was evident.

Lastly, some fried cheese. Heavenly.

Overall, the service was good and the food outstanding. I would return in a heartbeat.
