7 Reasons to Visit

I had always wanted to visit Savannah, Georgia. Pictures online depict beautiful squares with Spanish Moss hanging from trees, and architecture which appealed to me. So recently, I decided to finally visit. I also added a visit to Charleston, SC to the end of the trip. I was fully expecting Savannah to be the highlight of my trip, and while Savannah was beautiful, I was blown away by Charleston. Restaurant

Bar 167

For our last dinner in Charleston, I booked a table at Bar 167 (Fulton St). The atmosphere was lively and almost party like.

Caesar salad which was very good. I am very critical of Caesar salads because I think I have one of the best recipes, but this one may rival mine!

Overall, service was very good and friendly, food was good, presentation was good, atmosphere was lively. I would return!

Lewis BBQ

Of course we could not leave South Carolina without having some BBQ, and we decided to have lunch at the highly rated Lewis BBQ. Be prepared to wait because we got there around lunch and there was a long line.

Once you get to the front, you will see succulent, charred, and tender pieces of BBQ!
Overall this was a good experience, but I believe the style of BBQ is more Texas than SC.

Wild Common

Wild Common is a restaurant in Charleston, SC, and on the night I went, I sat at the chef’s counter. I did not expect such a refined tasting menu with Asian influences in Charleston!

We had the “eggs benedict” supplement and it was well worth it. Overall, the dishes were well executed and the Asian elements were incorporated without trying too hard. Presentation was stellar. Just look at that beautiful lobster and eggs benedict dish! Service was really good also with a lot of the kitchen staff interacting with us throughout the night. I would return and recommend.

The food in Charleston is absolutely delicious. In this post, I will write about our first dinner at Husk, and then post about the others later.
