The Best Casual Asian Food in Vegas – So Far – Kyuramen

I love Kyuramen. Every dish we had was packed with umami. These two sentences summarize my experience here. The restaurant has multiple locations across the USA, and they just opened in Vegas. Lets start with the interior. Its beautiful and I could see the owners invested a lot into the space. First, there is this very unique seating area:

Our server explained that all the woodwork was handmade and customized. On the other side, there is also more traditional seating with a massive wooden tree in the middle. At the end of your meal, there is a nice surprise related to the tree, but I won’t spoil it for you.

I thought this was a ramen only place but they have an assortment of other food. I’m glad I tried something in addition to the ramen. I want to try all their dishes eventually, but the day we went, they were out of many items because they had such a big weekend with super long lines according to our server. I had the mise ramen with mild spice.

The broth was super delicious, full of umami, spice and very well seasoned. It had depth. The noodles, wee perfectly cooked with a bit of a chewy al dented texture. A solid 9.99. Next, the omurice with tonkatsu and curry sauce. This was finished tableside as if we were in a fine dining place.

The curry was the perfect balance of spices and seasoning. I dipped each piece of tonkatsu in the sauce before biting down on the perfectly coated crunchy yet delicate pork. My only feedback was the pork was slightly dry and overcooked, but the coating and sauce offset this. Paired with the egg and rice, it was heaven in each bite.

The meal came with a matcha panna cotta. It was good, but the panna cotta could of been a bit lighter. It was a bit too firm.

Overall, this was a near perfect lunch. I went later afternoon on a Monday and there was no line. Our server informed me that on the weekend, the wait was about 45 minutes. Anyway, the food, service and atmosphere were amazing. I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended. I think they are opening on Spring Mountain soon too. If someone asked me for an Asian food reco in Vegas, this would definitely be top of mind.
