I have been searching for a party brunch spot every time I go to NYC for the past few trips now. I could never find the right spot to make me want to go check it out. Some looked forced, some didn’t provide good social media previews of what the scene actually looked like, others had bad reviews. However, on my most recent trip to NYC, I finally found a spot that turned out to be one of the most fun party brunches I have ever been.

First, it was easy to book online. Next, they had very good communication via email or text. TIP (this info is not always easy to find): if you want to actually experience the party, make a reservation for around 2:30PM. Before that, its just a typical French restaurant. However, starting around 3PM, the music gets louder, the lights get dimmer, the curtain close, performers start, and the party gets going! Initially, I booked at noon and then did some research and learned that the party didn’t start till later. I texted them the same day of my RSVP and they accommodated a later time. Easy and efficient. Upon arrival, we were seated after a short wait. Dining room was nice and people were dressed well.

We were seated close to the “stage” where performers and guests will start dancing when the party starts. The table was a bit small but that’s probably my only dislike of the whole time there. We started with 50g of caviar which was plated tableside for us. I couldn’t tell if the spoon was pearl (black) or steel or plastic. That was a bit surprising for a French place.

We also got the escargot, I had an omelet and my wife had a lobster croissant.

The food was all ok enough, but the main attraction is the party!

Overall, this was an amazing experience. The service was outstanding. For all the craziness going on, our server never dropped the ball. He came to check in on us frequently, did not forget any requests, and was just overall a very pleasant person; as were all the support staff. From the busy boys to the front door guy, everyone was super friendly. The entertainment, atmosphere, dining room, and party itself were everything I wanted. The party kind of felt like it just naturally evolved, not forced. That’s a key difference between Maison Close and other places I have been to. Even if you don’t want to get up on a table and dance, its a great afternoon to just watch everyone else having fun. I would go back and recommend.

First, if you want to save time, have an incredible experience, and see Manhattan like never before, consider booking a helicopter through Blade. From major NYC airports to Manhattan or vice versa, you will save time and get incredible views all for not much more than an UBER. Use code: BrianT986.

Second, if you travel as much as I do, staying connected is non-negotiable. Buying and switching physical SIM cards is a hassle and while eSIMs are generally a great option, many of them require you to create a new profile by scanning a QR code every time you cross a border.

Consider Truely (CODE: foodfinancetravel10 for 10% off) because they handle this differently with something called Switchless® technology.

Switchless®  means you install a Truely eSIM once, and it stays on your phone forever. It acts as a universal digital gateway. Whether you are landing in Tokyo, Paris, or New York, the eSIM automatically detects your location and connects to the best local network in seconds.

Why is this a game-changer?

Install Once, Use Forever: You never have to scan a QR code or mess with settings again. Just buy a data plan for your next destination, and it automatically activates on your existing Truely eSIM.

Smart Network Switching: Their technology actively scans for the strongest signal. If one network is weak, it invisibly switches you to a better one.

Instant Connection: Because the eSIM is already on your phone, you get internet the moment the plane wheels touch the tarmac. No airport WiFi required.

If you want to try it out, you can use my code foodfinancetravel10 to get 10% off your first plan.
