Reading some mixed reviews about Mother Wolf, the Italian restaurant in the Fontainebleau Vegas, I was 50/50 about trying the place. Then an associate told me it was her favorite Italian restaurant in Vegas so I decided to check it out. The venue itself is beautiful and has an open kitchen where you can watch pizza being hand tossed in the air. I don’t remember the details of every dish, but I do remember being blown away by most of the pastas. Everyone at the table agreed that it was a delicious dinner. We started with the margherita pizza and LA MORTAZZA, which is basically mortadella inside pizza dough:

Next the pastas. We started with the amatriciana and gnocchi with white truffle butter, parm, and fresh truffles (I think this was a special not on the menu). I didn’t start ordering amatriciana until I had some amazing ones in Rome about 3 years ago. Now I usually order it when its on the menu. Both pastas were incredible. A lot of times, when I order something with fresh truffles, the aroma is non-existent. This was not the case here.

The pastas were so good, we ordered another round. I believe we had the carbonara and caio e pepe. The carbonara was good but the caio was meh. I still haven’t found a really good cacio e pepe in Vegas.

For mains, we had the branzino and roasted chicken. The jus and mushrooms with the chicken were full of depth. The fish was well cooked and well seasoned.

If I remember correctly, even the sides were flavorful.

Although the savory food was a winner, the desserts were average. I would skip.

Overall, service was good. It was a bit of a delay to be seated, and the restaurant was pretty busy. The atmosphere is great with a modern elegance to the place. The food is very memorable as I am writing this almost 2 weeks after visiting and I still remember being blown away by some of the dishes, particularly the pastas. I would go back and recommend.
