More Unique Coffee Experiences in Japan – Kyoto

Yesterday, I wrote about a unique coffee experience in Osaka. Today, we are moving to Kyoto for two more coffee experiences. The first, is a place with multiple locations in Kyoto called % Arabica. The one I went to was located inside a Fujii Daimaru department store. Order the Kyoto coffee. Its amazing. Its just a touch of sweetness and richness and so smooth. The first sip will have your cursing! Trust me. I ordered a small one and after the first sip, regretted that I didn’t get a bigger size.

The second place is a very unique coffee experience. Its located in what appears to be the home of a very old man and is called Inoue.

What makes this place special is the setting. You feel like you are visiting a relative’s home, and having coffee in their living room (because you are!). Also, the gentleman running the place gave my wife a gift. A tablecloth from what seemed to be his personal collection. I saw him give away gifts to other customers also. Very very very nice person. When you go in, he will ask if you want cold or hot coffee. That’s it. He will serve it to you with a cookie and glass of water. An extremely memorable experience.
