Kitashinchi Kushikatsu Bon is a Must Eat in Osaka

When I travel to a new place, I try to find out what that place does better than anywhere else foodwise, or what food item is unique to the region. In Osaka, one of those things is kushi-katsu. Various food items on skewers, deep fried, and then dipped in sauce. I then try to find the place that does that item best. In Osaka, I came across Kitashinchi Kushikatsu Bon. This is a Michelin recommended restaurant. Seating is counter style and the service is omakase. In front of you, will be a large copper pot where the chef will work his deep fry magic. A bunch of sauces will be place in front of you, and some fresh veggies to refresh your palate after each bite of deep fried goodness.

Once the meal starts, be prepared for a variety of meat, veggies, and other combinations of items, fried to perfection, and delicious.

Here’s a peek into a perfectly cooked piece of beef:

How could anything deep fried and topped with uni and caviar not be amazing?

I loved the incorporation of things like foie gras:

As I write this, I am brought back to all the memories of delicious food and a great time.

This needs no introduction…

…and some dessert items:

Overall, the service was good and the food was really really good….and fun. I would not hesitate to go back, and highly recommend this place.
