Pagi Sore is a chain of restaurants in Indonesia, and I believe they may have some locations overseas also. They serve a style of food call Padang; which is basically a huge feast of dishes to be eaten with rice. Its awesome, and don’t let the fact that it is a “chain” discourage you from going. Its some of the tastiest food I had while in Indonesia. The one we visited was located in the Pik area of Jakarta. The restaurant is big, clean and modern, but super hot even with the AC. Indonesia in general was really hot and humid when I was there in November.

When you walk in, you will see a table displaying all the dishes available that day:

When you are seated, you will be greeted by the same assortment already at the table (the dishes are covered with plastic wrap):

How it works is you unwrap whatever you want to eat, and you only pay for what you have eaten. Its kind of like dim sum or conveyer belt sushi. I can’t remember everything I had or what the names were but most, if not everything was delicious. Full of spice and flavors. At the end, you can order some dessert:

Overall, the food was really good. Just go and eat whatever looks good, and most likely it will be. There was a vegetable dish that was out of this world good. Service is ok, as expected for a quick serve and really busy place. We would have to ask multiple times for something, but it didn’t detract from the experience. I would say this was one of the more memorable meals I had in Indonesia and would go back and recommend to someone.
