Mamasons Dirty Ice Cream is a Filipino Dessert restaurant located in London, England. Dirty ice cream is the name given to ice cream sold on the streets of Manila. The day we went, the place was packed!

TIP: There are two ways to order. You can wait in line like we did and order at the counter then wait for your order OR you can order from the two ipads located to the right when you enter and then wait for your order. From what I observed, you will get your food faster if you use the ipads.
The menu is an interesting mix of Filipino treats.

I wanted to try everything but was full so I went with what everyone recommended – the bilog. It is basically a “toasted pandesal ice cream sandwich”. Here is was:

Some notes:
- The bread is toasted in a panini press which is nice, but its more like brioche or cake than traditional pandesal (in a good way).
- The ice cream was very good – for those who don’t know, ube is a purple yam from the Philippines and is delicious! Its used in a variety of ways but my favorites are ice cream and cake.
- From what I could see, the ice cream and bread are made fresh on site.
- Be prepared to wait. Not only is there a lot of people, but the place is small and I think they have out grown the volume of business they are doing. Efficiency can be greatly improved.
Overall the product was good and I would go back. The bun was warm, had a nice fluffy texture and went so well with the ice cream. The ice cream itself did not have an overpowering taste of ube but just enough. It was creamy and not too sweet.
