I read about Azabu on a list of Miami’s best sushi. A visit to the website showed great promise with mention of its “Michelin Starred Concept”, secret omakase den, focus on Japanese whiskies etc. Usually, upon arrival at high level sushi establishments, one feels a sense of reverence like going into a temple. Upon arrival at Azabu, it felt like an average sushi restaurant in a hotel. We were seated outside and the never got the feeling that we were dining in a place doing sushi at a high level. The menu is definitely not traditional and has a wide variety of items; Azabu is not focused on only sushi.

Here’s what we had:

Lobster Tempura

Overall, the service was ok. The hot food and sushi was ok too. There are better places for sushi in Miami.
