Sushi Kashiba is one of the restaurants of Shiro Kashiba who learned his trade from masters in Japan such as Jiro.  We had a table reservation as Kashiba does not take reservations for the sushi bar.  Upon arrival, I inquired and we were told that it would be a 10 minute wait for the bar – so naturally, we waited.

Upon seats becoming available, we were sat at the end of the sushi bar and served by a gentleman from Osaka.

We had the omakase, which in this place, they will continue to serve you until you tell them to stop.  The first couple bites were outstanding.  In general, not every bite was outstanding but every bite was good at the very least.  They had a lot of interesting combinations and seafood available.  Its not purely traditional as they will add different ingredients to enhance the taste, but again, everything was good.

Interesting way to start an omakase – with a handroll.

Like any good self-respecting sushi restaurant, the shrimp head is fried and served

Overall, service was pretty good and the food was great.  I would return.  9/10
