Usually, I am skeptical of “world famous” anything, but this was a convenient place to stop on a recent trip from Miami to Key West, and I wanted seafood. The restaurant is nicely set on the water outdoors, but under cover.

We started with the smoked Wahoo Dip which is a popular dish in South Florida. It was pretty good. Very refreshing and subtle flavors of fish and smoke.

We also had the “World Famous Islamorada Fish Sandwich”. This is the day’s catch served grilled or fried (we got it grilled).

Overall it was not bad. There are better fish sandwiches out there; my most memorable would be Art Mels in Bermuda; to me, its THE fish sandwich. The service at Islamorada Fish Company was not bad either. This is an ok option to stop for lunch if you are in the area. The setting is nice and the food is decent enough.
